Nicknames & Opinions Please!?

My grandmas name is Carmen I was thinking of possibly naming my child Carmen one day after her..I think the name is lovely but I notice many people don't take much of a liking to it..do you think people will be very critical towards her because of her name??? I def wouldnt want her to be judged or left out by others because I know how that feels and it isnt very good! so what do you think of the name?? Please give me your HONEST opinions..also what are some cute nicknames for the name Carmen? the ones I like so far are Cammy/Carmy/Cara/Cary (Car-e) /Carly...which is the best from those? and why? also any more suggestions would be nice..Ok Thanx =]
